amy maclean podiatry

A Glasgow Caledonian University graduate in podiatric medicine and surgery, Amy Maclean is now the resident podiatrist at Aberdeen Sports Village.

Within the premier health and wellbeing centre in the North East, Amy works as part of the multi-disciplinary team at SPEAR Sports Injury and Physiotherapy clinic.

Amy's main area of focus lies within the biomechanics of the foot and ankle.  Assessing this involves static and dynamic foot examinations to identify any abnormalities in the lower limb.  From these tests, she can prescribe from a large range of customised foot orthoses (insoles), as well as giving concise, clear explanations to the patient.

Amy spends time on a weekly basis as the in-house podiatrist at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary's ANCHOR Unit. Working within the Unit, she provides podiatric care to those both in the wards and at the outpatient clinics.

As part of an ongoing effort to improve the level of care given at Amy Maclean Podiatry, Amy dedicates time to attend national conferences.  In doing so, she increases her awareness of new treatment methods and technologies within the profession.

Amy is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a member of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists. This enables her to carry out minor foot surgeries and supply certain prescription only medicines.

For ClubSport Aberdeen affiliated Sports Clubs, Amy Maclean Podiatry will offer a "Special Members" reduction in services
